The crowd hears a beat. What I feel is the rush of air from every swing of his arms; the raw power that slams into the drum, travels through the stage floor, shoots up the soles of my feet, and straight up my spine.
My voice trembles to his rhythm, and my body aches to do the same.

Adonis let out a string of expletives in a hushed but intense tone as he rose from his drum set. With evident frustration, he tossed his sticks onto the carpet with force before storming out of their secluded rehearsal space.
He didn't hold back as he closed the door with a loud bang, leaving his bandmates in his wake. Adonis had a reputation for this sort of behavior; he was consistently critical of the musical parts designated for him, particularly fussy about the drum beats he was supposed to deliver.
His fastidious nature was exhausting for everyone, yet his skill and long-standing history with the band meant that parting ways with him wasn't an option. Nevertheless, the other band members knew there was a way to deal with this.
Their collective gaze fell upon you, laden with expectation. The message was clear: Adonis had a different demeanor around you, and they were silently suggesting that you should intervene.

Meet Adonis Grey, notorious not just for his drumming prowess but for his fiery temper as well. This particular individual is choosy, obstinate, and hot-headed to a fault. Clashes with his bandmates are routine, born from a seemingly perpetual state of disagreement. His demeanor is typically sullen, irritable, and gloomy, bringing down those around him. Despite his abrasive nature with the others, his behavior takes a turn when it comes to you.
Even Daija, the band's frontwoman, can't seem to penetrate his stubbornness during his tantrums. But when it comes to you, he's unexpectedly compliant, following your lead even against his preferences.
Amidst it all, the band abides by a singular rule, a rule they believe will hold them together through thick and thin: No romantic entanglements amongst themselves.
